Welcome to the American Family Campground (AFC) Website, friends. Allow me to introduce myself - you may call me George. I am one of your guides on this tour of the fine facilities, excellent amenities, comfortable accommodations, easy access to local and regional attractions, and so much more!
Joining me in this tour are my good friends Abraham and Betsy. We hope our presentation will lead you to choose AFC for your familys camping getaway.
Set along the wooded shores of the pristine Neversink River, AFC is nestled between the majestic Catskill and Pocono Mountains. Treat your family to the finest in surroundings, camping activities and a location that is both secluded and close to regional travel routes. Each year, Betsy, Abraham and myself "Cross the Neversink" in my rowboat to join camping families like you in the campgrounds fun and relaxing atmosphere. The splendor of the trees and the freshness in the air make this a campground thats sure to invigorate your body, mind and soul. If, like my good friend Abraham, you enjoy the rod and reel, you will delight in the excellent fishing in the state-stocked river and onsite stream & pond. Those drawn to the water will want to rent a paddleboat for our stream or try an innertube for a relaxing float down the river.
Enjoy resort-quality facilities at AFC. For those that prefer calm currents and mild temperatures, the campground offers a heated pool that is open for the entire camping season and is enclosed during the colder months. Golfers of all ages and experience will enjoy miniature golf and the New Driving Range, which features wide open driving spaces and flags set out to 300 yards. Balls and clubs are available for rent at the Camp Store. Other outdoor diversions include games of softball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tetherball and horseshoes.

Ive lived in this serene, picturesque valley since I was knee-high to a rabbit and Im here to tell you: Oakland Valley offers some of the finest camping youll find anywhere. Nestled in rustic woods along 2000 feet of the pristine Neversink River shore, your family will enjoy excellent amenities and camping activities.
Whether you drive in with an RV or just pitch a tent, the riverfront campsites offer campers the opportunity to fish right from their campsite. If you arent an angler, theres still plenty to enjoy around here. I appreciate the quiet, peaceful setting - its a perfect place for my woodland friends and I to take our "vacations." Keep your eyes open...you never know when well show up for a little "F & F" (Feeding & Frolicking).
Oakland Valley Campground has outstanding modern facilities that add just the right amount of luxury to your camping experience. Although I usually stick to the river, taking a dip in the large swimming pool does get quite tempting (you folks make it look like so much fun). Enjoy a variety of outdoor sports, indoor games and much more.
Explorers have plenty to see and do around here. Its a short drive to shopping, white water rafting, golf, horseback riding, caves, browsing for antique treasures and plenty more. Although I live here in Cuddebackville, Ive been all over this part of the country and this scenic region has got something to offer each member of your family. Take easy day trips to that World in a Town known as New York City, the beautiful capital at Albany and many more area attractions.
