Phone: 231-525-8373 We are centrally located for all of your northern Michigan fun and relaxation, on 73 acres of beautiful rolling woodlands, meadows, and wetlands at the edge of the scenic Pigeon River Country. Our guests comment how beautiful and peaceful it is here, saying this is ??camping the way it should be!?, and ?Modern camping in a wilderness setting.? Come and see for yourself! Mark & Cindy Mikula became the owners of Elkwood Campground in March, 2004. Our priorities are Customer Service and Clean Bathrooms. We enjoy getting to know our guests around their campfires in the evening, so don?t be surprised if we show up with color cones in hand! Our emphasis is on quiet relaxation, and enjoying the wildlife and nature. We welcome you to take advantage of our large pool, but require all children under age 14 to be accompanied by an adult.

Sturgeon River Campground

15247 Trowbridge Rd
Wolverine Michigan, 49799
Phone: 877-527-6341 DO NOT STAY HERE OR YOU WILL CERTAINLY REGRET IT BY THE TIME YOU LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owners here are absolutely INSANE! We booked our sites in May 2007 and they held on to our credit card information until they RAISED THEIR RATES IN JULY 2007! We paid over $40 more than expected because they wanted to charge us their "NEW RATE". We had a family reunion type campfire going, and suddenly we were told that we had to WISPER after 10 pm or they would call the police, WHICH THEY DID! We had to answer to the police when they came rolling in around 11 pm! The police told us that it was not the first time and wont be the last time that they had to drive out there and warn campers, they were understanding because they too realize that the owners are CRAZY!! What kind of campground makes such an attempt to run you out of their sites!!!????? I was shocked when the wife of the owner stated to me that we were keeping her kids up! Well than don?t live at a campground with your 5 kids lady! Maybe she was hormonal since she is expecting again!? The morning after the police were called, we went to the bathrooms to find that the owners had LOCKED THEM! Yikes! How can you advertise a ?Public Bathroom? when they are LOCKED!!!! So, needless to say, we packed up at 7 am sharp and got the heck out of there to stay up the road which was GREAT!!! (Elkwood Campground - www.elkwoodcamp.com 2733 Lance Lake Rd, Wolverine - (231) 525-8373) I will never go back, and I hope that people read this before they book their stay! Such a DISAPOINTMENT!
