The main focus is on group camping, but there are also remote lean-tos that cater to individuals. Kettle Pond has 27 lean-tos, grouped into 5 separate areas, 7 remote lean-tos and one campsite located on the shore around the pond. Hike the 3-mile trail around Kettle Pond and you?ll experience all types of diverse nature. Beaver huts, wildflowers, moose sightings, pond life, nesting loons and more can be found here. The group camping area is a great adventure for any type of organized group to come together in a natural environment. Located 2 miles east from Marshfield on U.S. Rt. 2, 5-1/2 miles south on VT Rt. 232 to New Discovery State Park. Check in with the New Discovery Park Ranger and receive directions to Kettle Pond. MC/VISA. The campground has 27 lean-tos arranged into five separate groups, as well as several remote lean-tos.. There are three double pit toilets and a hand pump well. There is a cartop boat launch, swimming area, and access to miles of hiking trails. Also available are seven remote campsites.

New Discovery State Park includes 46 tent/trailer sites and 15 lean-tos in the developed campground. This is one of only two state parks that allow horse camping. Trailer your horse and experience the Montpelier/Wells River Railroad multiple use trail. Call ahead for information. Also, experience remote camping on Osmore Pond only reachable by foot or boat. You can get a canoe and remote lean-to site on Osmore Pond for up to 4 people for only $25/night. Wake up to the call of the loon. Hike to the top of Owl?s Head to view Groton Lake, Kettle Pond, and Camel?s Hump, one of the most photographed scenes in Vermont.
