Bourne Scenic Park

231 Sandwich Rd
Buzzards Bay Massachusetts, 02542
Phone: 508 759-7873 The Bourne Scenic Park is a family camping area located along the banks of the Cape Cod Canal in the town of Bourne, MA. Bourne is the first town on Cape Cod and is divided by the Cape Cod Canal, a 7-mile man-made waterway that is used by ships as a "shortcut" to avoid sailing around the entire Cape. The Bourne Scenic Park was founded in 1951 as an area for picnics and camping, with approximately 200 sites. From its inception, the park has more than doubled in size to its current 465 sites, 426 of which are electric. The Bourne Scenic Park is owned and operated by the Bourne Recreation Authority on land leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. While campers at Bourne Scenic Park have a variety of options to plan their day around, (fishing, hiking, rollerblading along the banks of the Canal, scheduled activities for both children and adults, Rec. Hall with video games and jukebox, Park Store featuring groceries, ice cream, and soda) it seems to be the scenic views of the Canal and the laid back atmosphere that leave the biggest impression. Bourne Scenic Park has become the vacation destination for more and more people. The Park is bustling with families enjoying their vacations. The fall months bring with them, arguably, the best weather of the season to the Park. This time of year is extremely popular with people who travel in groups, as well as with owners of some of the larger motorhomes that constantly visit Bourne Scenic Park. The Bourne Recreation Authority has made a conscious decision to continually improve its facility. Off-season the Park staff is continually working on improvements. Our reservation system makes it easy to secure a campsite at the Park even during some of its busiest times of year.
